Not really make-up, but I just love those play-with-your-brain visual ads.
I wish you all the best for 2010. Health, wealth, Fun and Love.
I made a few change to the website, hope you like it and find infos more easily. and promise : I'll update that blog more often this year.My first wig is nearly finished. I've been working less regularly on it, since I've had a few jobs in France and we had an emergency knotting work to do at the workshop : a werewolf suit ! So you can imagine that the stock wig had to wait a bit.
I'm starting to work on a feature film this week, as a main trainee. I'm also helping out the designer Christine Blundell to organise her crowd scenes, I'll have more responsabilities on that film and I love it. It's a gangster film, so makeupwise it's all bout tatoos, scars and blood. Finally, here's a cover published this month, with an old photo (It may be old, but I can't get bored of it.) : Daria, ©IsshogaïMy first wig is well advanced now. I've started the parting and the front lace. The work is a bit more slow and delicate, as you need more knotts (nearly every hole) to be able to make a parting anywhere looking natural. Here some photos.
Take care.Weeks fly and spring is at last here in London. I've worked a few days on Centurion from Neil Marshall, and in the woods, the damp and cold were still there. I've started knotting my first wig. I've done knotting on other wigs before, but it's not the same thrill as one you do from A to Z (not the sewing of the lace though, that's another craft). I'm quite happy. Here's a photo :
I will keep knotting this week and hopefully be able to show you this WE how well I've done. Have a nice week.Since the end of my wigs training, I've been lucky. I've been able to get some good internships, meet interesting people : First day on my own for a tv show here, internship in a worldwide known wigs company : life is going pretty well.
For a couple of weeks, I've been working at London wigs. If you've seen the Duchess, or John Adams, then you know their work. To be honest, I just can't believe I'm actually learning with such a great team. I've been able to meet Jan Archibald today, she's been on set everyday till now... So I'm doing knotts all day long, and it's not as easy as it could seem. Even if there's no agency at CBMA, they have a real after-care policy. They manage to get interesting projects and paid work for their former students. So I got a mission for ITV : an accident reconstruction for Pride of Britain. Don't miss the broadcasting of the award tonight at 8pm on ITV. Discover how ordinary people become a hero one day and who is the award winner this year. I can't say much more, but that day, it was all emotion and adrenaline... and a few effects too. Impressiv !

Time has flied so quick since my last post. After going back and forth between Paris and London, I finally moved in London. And as I've decided to really get into the film industry, I've followed an additional course to upgrade my skills to the English level in hair, wigs and hairpieces. I had the occasion on that course to brush up my make-up, casualties and prosthetics skills as well. So I went to CBM academy, for 3 months, quite dense, and did some kind of internship after that.
I am following the normal steps of a wannabe film make-up artist in the uk : work experience and trainee jobs. . I had some work experience in a quite fun children tv show, for CBBC : Horrible histories. The designer knows well the school and teach there as well, so she knows what to expect from us and encourage us to be activ and not only observing what's going on. I was quite happy to do another prosthetics during that week and lots of wigs cleaning and dressing. Perfect for me to put in practise what I've just learn. and there was some fun things to do, like a branded Goldenlocks ! Then, another work experience on the film Exam, with a canadian designer. Again, nice experience. More than 10 days with skilled and nice people : I learned a lot. Now, well, back to cv sending and at last, update of this blog. And of course some photos from make-up and things I've made at CBM academy will be soon in the gallery. By the way, it's open day at the academy this saturday for those who think about going into makeup... It's worth a visit.
